About the WFBN

The World Federalist Movement Netherlands (WFBN) has been active in the Netherlands since shortly after the end of the Second World War. In the fifties, when the “never again war” adage was in full swing, world federalism appealed to many people. At that time, the WFBN was a peace movement with more than 15,000 members and many branches. The number of members decreased with the arrival of prosperity and the fading of memories of the war.

World Federalist Movement

Every inhabitant of the earth has the right to well-being and prosperity. The WFBN, founded in 1948, strives for a sustainable and democratic world order, with respect for human rights. By raising awareness of global problems, it emphasizes the need for international cooperation and strengthening of the United Nations on a federal basis.

Cooperation

The WFBN often collaborates with like-minded organizations and is the Dutch member organization of the World Federalist Movement headquartered in New York.

World citizens

The WFBN is also linked to the register of the Citoyens du Monde (headquartered in Paris). Since the registration of world citizens began in 1950, hundreds of thousands of people have registered worldwide, including famous persons such as Albert Camus, Albert Einstein, Jean-Paul Sartre, Linus Pauling, Yehudi Menuhin, Garry Davis, Bertrand Russell, Jawaharlal Nehru, Abbé Pierre, Sicco Mansholt, Sir Peter Ustinov.
