Declaration on the Israel-Palestine Conflict

of the WFBN (World Federalist Movement Netherlands)

May 8, 2025

Since its foundation, the World Federalist Movement Netherlands (WFBN) has been striving to promote a global legal order.
That is why the WFBN was one of the coalition partners at the time that advocated the establishment of the International Criminal Court.

The WFBN Board closely follows the war actions of Israel in the Gaza Strip, the West Bank and Lebanon and is very concerned about the most recent developments. The WFBN Board therefore wants to make it clear in this statement that
– all parties should strive for an immediate ceasefire,
– all parties must immediately lay the foundation for a lasting peace,
– all food aid is immediately available to the people of Gaza,
– withholding food aid should be qualified as a war crime,
– all parties promptly recognize the authority of the International Criminal Court in this conflict and facilitate its work,
– the International Criminal Court must make every effort to investigate war crimes that have been committed or may be committed and to bring those responsible for them to the International Criminal Court in The Hague as soon as possible by means of a warrant of detention.

About the WFBN

The World Federalist Movement Netherlands (WFBN) has been active in the Netherlands since shortly after the end of the Second World War. In the fifties, when the “never again war” adage was in full swing, world federalism appealed to many people. At that time, the WFBN was a peace movement with more than 15,000 members and many branches. The number of members decreased with the arrival of prosperity and the fading of memories of the war.

World Federalist Movement

Every inhabitant of the earth has the right to well-being and prosperity. The WFBN, founded in 1948, strives for a sustainable and democratic world order, with respect for human rights. By raising awareness of global problems, it emphasizes the need for international cooperation and strengthening of the United Nations on a federal basis.

Cooperation

The WFBN often collaborates with like-minded organizations and is the Dutch member organization of the World Federalist Movement headquartered in New York.
