The conference took place in early 2014 ThinkTwice<\/em> place in Frankfurt am Main, organized by the Pirate Party International (PPI). A number of presentations concerned democracy in the world. Typically, the Pirate Party movement, in line with the consent within the working group on World Legal Order (WRO), refers to the ideal democracy<\/em> on something other than electoral-representative democracy. More direct democracies in which people have more influence, such as fluid democracy<\/a>, are needed. This was discussed extensively in Martina P\u00f6ser's presentation.<\/span><\/p>\n

My presentation was about the democratization of the world. The concrete tool that was central to the presentation was the campaign for the establishment of a Parliamentary Assembly for the United Nations<\/a> (UNPA). Criticisms, including feasibility, undemocratic nations, and the weighting models other than one-person-one-vote that have been seriously considered in the literature, have been addressed. My conclusion is that a world parliament must meet the following necessary (but not sufficient) conditions when introducing a world parliament:<\/span><\/p>\n
